Psychic Evening

A very good friend of ours, in fact Co-Founder of our group, invited us round for a 'psychic evening'. we were hoping to hone our skills and maybe try out some new ones. With her home showing some signs of spirit activity we took some basic equipment with us too.

On arrival, and with pleasantries over, we decided to 'snoop' upstairs where the majority of the activity was reported. Sure enough we were all affected, in different ways, by the atmosphere. Val felt very 'heady' and as if her hair was being played with. This is a classic 'Val' response, one that she has come to recognise, with a good degree of accuracy, that there is, indeed, spirit or spirits present. Tracey also felt spirit gathering close to her and Penny felt her 'classic' early signals of spirit presence, a swaying sensation even though there is no 'outward' evidence of her swaying.

This gives you an idea of how we work and feel when we have our initial walk round, on most of our investigations. I say most, because it doesn't always go that way. Sometimes we don't pick up anything early on. It is also not often that we all experience something straight away.

Having identified some 'hot spots' (which, paradoxically, are usually cold) , and taking some interesting pictures, with orb activity and light anomalies evident in them. We decided to deploy our motion detectors in one of the smaller bedrooms, which seemed to be particularly active. Val was affected quite a lot in this area, she felt very dizzy, as she sat on the bed. She repeatedly got up to leave and had to sit down again, because of the feelings she was having. Val felt it was our friend's father, affecting her. She had never met him in life but had experienced his presence before. On our friend's advice, Val, was helped out of the room and almost immediately began to feel better. Her condition soon returned to 'normal.

Motion detectors set we moved out onto the landing and turned our attention to the stairs.

Tracey was seeing small lights dancing in this area and was picking up the presence of a lady (on the stairs). She was showing herself in her 30's and had an elegant/serene kind of feel about her. Tracey felt this lady lived in the late 1800's possibly 1880's. She was pretty but quite plain in appearance. Her face was slightly obscured by a hood, or shawl type garment which she had pulled up over her head. Val was aware of this, same, lady as a simple 'figure shape' wrapped in a translucen, tissue paper type 'haze'. At this point Penny was sitting on the stairs and could 'feel' the lady. With light pressure on her (Penny's) shoulders, as if unseen hands were there. The feeling was intense, warming and calming, as if receiving healing. Penny noted these feelings without discussing them with the other two. Almost simultaneously tracey was describing this lady as a caring, mothering figure, who appeared to be 'looking after' Penny at this time.

All the time Val was aware of activity all around her and was snapping 'orb activity' on her camera. She was still witnessing the 'translucent figure' described earlier but was not able to catch her on film. Throughout this time all three of us were aware of, what may have been, residual energy - in the form of people passing us on the stairs, up and down..... Tracey continued to see small lights 'dancing in the stairway.

After all of this activity, and not being able to pick up any more about who this lady was, we returned to the lounge, for a break.

It was while relaxing in the lounge that Val was sensing activity and continued to take photgraphs depicting 'orb' activity and, again, light anomalies.

There were two other guests at the house that evening. While we were upstairs they were getting very good results/evidence using and Angel board.... The Angel board is very similar in design and principle as a Ouija board. WE DO NOT ENCOURAGE THE USE OF THESE BOARDS as a rule but our friend is a very experienced medium and trusted friend, she ensured that everyone was protected and safe, as she 'ran' this part of the evening. While we don't encourage or suggest the use of boards as a 'game' for the inexperienced, if used properly and safely they can be quite an effective resource in an investigators bag. Again always used with CAUTION and RESPECT they can produce interesting results.

During the evening we explored the use of candles, as a way of communicating with spirit. Although we have witnessed success with this before, we were unable to replicate this success on this particular evening. Try as we might the flame just wouldn't settle for us. Despite the candles being in glass containers (hurricane lamp style - with the flame being well inside the holder). There were no obvious draughts in the room and if there were the type of holders we used should have eliminated this possibility. The flames still 'danced' on top of the candles and didn't settle into a steady burn - this was not just the candle we tried with several others and had to abandon this experiment in the end.

There was great excitement when our friend and host allowed us to use one of her most treasured possessions - her crystal ball !!! - We felt, suitably, honoured to be given this opportunity. Again, the crystal ball is a useful tool for focusing and calming the mind. Once relaxed and focused the user may begin to see images, actully in the ball itself or, alternatively, in the 'minds eye'. Our experiences on the night were different too. Both Val and Tracey 'saw' in the ball and Penny 'saw' in her 'minds eye'. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the task, the information and experiences were personal to the 'seer' and the others around the table. Suffice to say it was used with a good degree of success, but also left some questions unanswered, I guess for these only time will tell.

Our friend has a very old mirror hanging over the fireplace in her lounge, which had belonged to her (our friend's) husband's grandmother. Penny had been drawn to this mirror all evening and when the opportunity came, to do some 'skrying' with it, she jumped at the chance. Skrying, again, is another type of focusing device, as with the crystal ball the 'seer' can experience images in the mirror or with their own mind. After a good while focusing , in the mirror, Penny got the image of what looked like a very, very young man. he actually looked more like a boy. he was dressed in an 'armoured' tunic with skin tight leggings on the lower part of his body. his helmet had a red 'mohican style' brush down the middle of it. He looked like a mini roman gladiator. He was a very sad figure. He was very distressed because he hadn't died in battle, because of this he felt that he hadn't been 'brave' he wanted his mum to know he hadn't been 'brave'. Penny felt he had passed with a disease rather than the battle he so wished he had passed in - it felt like there would have been more honour and pride for him if he had lost his life fighting. No amount of trying to reassure him, as a mum, how proud his own mother would have been seemed to appease him and Penny could actually feel his tears on here face, even though there was not physical evidence of this on her own face. This was quite an emotional but strangely uplifting experience for Penny and one she would like to try again in future investigations Val took a photo during this experience and capture a orb on Penny

Next we decided to try the more 'traditional' type of seance. Again, our friend made sure we were all well protected and safe - as she had done all evening through our various experiments and experiences. We placed our hands on the table and linked together - Our friend, as I mentioned earlier, is a very good, very experienced medium and a trusted friend, her attention was drawn to a small child who revealed herself, in her ballet outfit, she was keen to let her mum know she had passed safely and was still dancing. She demonstrated here skill to our friend. The little girl seemed to think that one of us would know who she was and let her mum know she was safe. Unfortunately, although the details of her passing and some of the things she was relaying did flag up a strong possibility of recognition with one of the other guests, at the table, it was in a professional capacity that she (the guest) had encountered the child's mum, so she had not contact or way of contacting the parent. It was with some sadness we couldn't really help this little girl, and because of this she was reluctant to leave. It fell to Val to persuade her to go and allow our friend to return to us. it was not easy task but Val is experience in this field and having worked closely with our friend before, she skillfully read the situation and ensured our friend's safe return to her 'normal' consciousness. This only goes to illustrate the experience, knowledge and trust you need to conduct these events. This is why we strongly recommend that you DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME.

What an amazing evening, we soon found ourselves at about 2 o'clock in the morning. We closed the evening's events appropriately and bid farewell to the two other guests. The only thing left to do was to retrieve our equipment. Our motion detectore had remained silent all evening and the dvd recording revealed nothing more than occasional 'orb' activity - maybe the spirits in the house had followed us downstairs and enjoyed the evening as much as we had. Before we returned downstairs, Val, not one to miss every opportunity took one last round of snaps with her camera, she was particularly drawn to the bed although, as I have already mentioned the hour was late we were all ready for bed, however when she took a photo of the bed there appeared to be an 'orb' on each of the pillows.

                                orbs on each pillow

This seemed like a fitting end to a great evening, so after gathering up our stuff we bid our host/friend farewell and verntured out into the night.

As I said.... What an amazing evening. We hope we can do it again soon, it really is good to practice our skills and learn about new things, in a trusting friendly, relaxed and most importantly safe environment.

To our great friend and host a huge THANKYOU again for inviting us. You know how special you are and always will be to us.
