June 2010 - Great Yarmouth High School

The school's bell tower was 100 years old and there had recently been renovations at the site. The children were doing a project about their 'Haunted Clock Tower'. Were approached by the R.E Teacher if we could come and give a talk to the children about the work we do as Paranormal Investigators.

We arranged to look around prior to our talk.We only had a limited time so we took a limited amount of equipment which was: EMF, Gausse meters and digital camera, and were quickly taken round a small area of the school to get a feel for the place.

Our initial pull was towards the caretaker's cupboard door the EMF meters were very active there. Carl picked up on the presence of a Head Master and a lady with a tea trolley. Both Carl and Tracey saw the Head Master wearing a Gown and Mortar Board hat. We were all feeling spirit presence and the Gausse and EMF were showing activity and thus confirming what we were feeling. We also took photo's and caught 'orbs'.

In the I.T. room Val heard a voice and some laughter. One of the teachers thought she heard the voice too. Tracey picked up on the presence of a small boy who may have been responsible for the laughter.

In the room at the bottom of the clock tower Val's hair was 'playfully' pulled, the feeling in this area was very atmospheric for all present.

Upstairs Carl though he saw a teacher in one of the classroom's. We took photo's which seemed to show a teacher inside the room. On later inspection it was just the picture of a dirty glass.

In the playground both Carl and Tracey saw children playing, the playground was empty. The time period seemed to be WW2. Tracey, again, noticed a small boy who had passed away on his way to school. Carl noticed a child who was ill. He felt that the school, as a whole, have been involved in fundraising activities to help pay for the child's medical care.

Unfortunately, due to time constraints we had to pack away and call time on this investigation but we were happy that we had enough to make our talk both interesting and appropriate to the subject.

After a successful talk, which was enjoyed by all, staff and children alike, we were invited back to spend an evening investigation during the school holidays, as a thankyou for the work we had done.

We eagerly awaited our night at the school, and arrived about 7.30, the rain was torrential and we got quite wet unloading our equipment.

On the night of the investigation we had hoped to investigate a wider section of the school but when we arrived we were again, limited, to the same areas, because of the unavailability of the main key holder. Our initial 'walk round' was very similar to our first visit. The Head Master and Tea Lady made themselves known to Carl and Tracey. Tracey, also, picked up the little boy again.

We set up the camera's, two in the Library corridor, one in the Library itself, three on the stage and one pointing toward the caretaker's cupboard.

In the Library we caught lots orb activity and we think we may have captured the image of a spirit in the reflection of the computer screen; What do you think?

Many orbs were caught on the stage, and on the whole this was the most active area . Carl kept picking up the song "Consider Yourself" from the film Oliver he also picked up a boy connected with the song

Penny and Tracey decided to do a vigil on the stage but apart from a few unexplained temperature changes didn't pick up on anything more. The rest of the group joined Penny and Tracey and during this time Carl picked up on a 'dark' figure dressed in a cape. He was able to describe the figure in some detail but as the spirit in question was very closely connected to and the information given personal to one of the present we feel it inappropriate to publish here.. Both Val and Tracey had picked up on this 'dark' figure standing by one of the exits in the hall.

Things went very quiet , and as we were quite tired we decided to pack up our equipment and head off home.

We wish to thank the school for such a interesting evening, and for giving us the rare opportunity to hold a investigation there. Everyone present enjoyed the evening.

FOOT NOTE: We would like to explain that although dark figures may first appear very very frightening, they are scarsely anything sinister. On deeper inspection they may be a relative of a spirit in the early stages of apparition, a spirit who has not passed over long, a spirit who is inexperienced in communicating with our earthly world or just a dark image seen in 'the corner of your eye'.
