We were invited to this family home because the occupants were being frightened by:- Rattling noises, things being moved, in particular two watches, sweets from a jar, a large, heavy, bible and an oven glove which hung, as a decoration, in the kitchen. Clocks in the bedroom would often be turned to face down or the ticking would get louder and louder. The family had often seen the head and shoulders of an elderly man, reflected, in their TV and one of the young adult males often had his music disturbed and replaced by the sound of church music. The same man had also been seen by one of the younger females in her bedroom. The mother of the family (all of whom were adults) was particularly frightened and did not like to be left alone in the house, nor did she like going to the bathroom, which was located downstairs, on her own. During the initial visit, which only Val, Tracey and Penny were able to attend. In a small, back bedroom, the family had arranged some religious items i.e. a bible, crucifix, rosary beads and some pictures of religious icons, they reported that these items were often moved or swept of the table altogether both Val and Tracey felt quite uneasy in this area of the house. The Jar, from which the sweets were taken and put in the kitchen, didn't feel that it 'belonged' in the house Tracey felt that there was a 'presence' which arrived the Jar and was 'stuck' with it. The family had placed many religious objects and pictures to try and rid themselves of these unwanted 'spirits' but ,so far, these hadn't helped. On the evening of the investigation the team were brought 'up to date' by the family who reported that the 'spirit(s)' had continued to disrupt their lives as before. With the location so 'active' we all looked forward to a busy night of investigation. The walk through was quite brisk, because our initial visit had been quite thorough. Carl picked up on several areas and 'spirits' which he was eager to pursue, so with a promising evening ahead the equipment was set up. Whilst, the team were busy setting up, the camera in a middle bedroom slowly lowered and then fell over. It was thought that Val, who was the only person upstairs at the time, had knocked it as she went past but as you can see from the footage this was not the case. FOOTAGE OF THE CAMERA MOVING ---- INSERT HERE When Penny went to reset the camera she checked it over and it was still secure to it's base and screwed tight at the angle to which it had been set earlier. We could find no rational explanation for it moving.... have a look and see what you think. Although the family had reported seeing and experiencing the spirit of an elderly man, it was a woman who made herself known to Carl initially. It transpired that she stayed in the house and that the elderly gentleman (who Carl identified to be a Rabbi) was trying to guide her to the light. She didn't realise that this was what he was doing and seemed frightened to go with him. It was because of the lady's fright that doors were shaken and scratching and knocking was heard by the residents. The noises occurred as she tried to keep away from the Rabbi and attract attention to get help. Penny was sitting on the floor, Tracey on the couch with two family members and Carl was standing. Penny became aware that someone was holding a crucifix (which she had earlier noticed on the table upstairs) right in front of her forehead, Carl explained that this was the lady who was trying to hide from the 'Rabbi' character. Penny felt quite warm and not particularly threatened but was aware that she was encompassed in a 'bubble' of pure white light. With encouraging words from Carl, it became apparent that the lady would like to join her relations on the other side. Val was called through from the dining room to help with the passing and, again, with Carl's encouragement the lady made he exit from the house. The Rabbi seemed to go too and all became quiet as before. However Carl and Val seemed drawn to the "sweetie jar" and wanted a closer look,Carl didnt like the feelings he was getting off the jar and Val touched it and seemed to get a electric shock that seemed to go down her spine and from ear to ear, however we couldnt give a explaination for this.
A little later Val, Carl and Tracey went upstairs to see what they could find there. Penny stayed in front of the monitor with some of the family members (the other family members went back into the lounge). There appeared to be several 'spirit' people upstairs: firstly Carl was able to identify one of them as the husband of a previous owner, of the house. He was not happy that the priest kept coming round his house (it was thought that the priest came to arrange the funeral with the man's wife). After the funeral the lady was moved to a residential home so this added to the man's upset and turmoil, Carl explained that the couple had made a pact that they would wait for each other and because of the lady's ill health she had had to move out of the home, and with the new family moving in the man was not very happy. Also upstairs Carl identified another 'spirit' gentleman. Carl was confused as to why this man was here or why he stayed here but was able to ascertain that he had been a milkman during his life on earth he had died in the late 1950's early 1960's his name was Sam and it was he who messed around with the clocks and watches in the house. Because he was so punctual in life so this continued after his death. Carl continued to be confused as there seemed to be many different spirits some which would come and go in visitation and some who should never had been here and couldn't leave. It was thought that the latter had somehow been attracted to the home and become grounded here maybe by the very, religious, things which had been put in the home to help them leave. Carl was able to help several of these 'wandering spirits' to leave.Val and Tracey both heard footsteps coming up the stairs when everybody was accounted for down stairs and black shapes were seen crossing the bedroom. After a busy and confusing time upstairs the trio came down for a much needed break. With things calm and quiet and nothing happening on the infra-red cameras the team decided it was time to pack up and leave. In conclusion the family were advised to remove all items they had put out to ward off the spirits, as these possessions were not important in their own lives, and also to return the 'sweetie jar' to where they had got it from and use something else to see if that might help. Although this family is still having a few problems we understand that they are beginning to decorate and make it more like a home now, where before our visit they had only been there 2 or 3 months and were considering selling up and moving. We wish to thank them for inviting us to investigate and wish them love and luck in their new home.
