We were asked to check out a work place, as the employees had seen figures, doors opening and things moving. It was the site of a old monastery. Stone coffins containing bones had been found, when the building was being built. The coffins are currently being held, and displayed in a local museum.

The investigation started at 7pm. First we had a tour of the building, to get a feel of the place Because of the nature of the business we started on the ground floor, as we knew we would be unable to set up equipment there or stay very long in that area.

Our first port of call downstairs was a large room where both Carl and Val smelt smoke, their heads felt fuzzy and they lost the sense of balance. Both, also, felt there had been a fire a some stage. We moved on to a rest area where employees often felt uneasy, they had seen 'figures' and experienced things being tidied up when the room was empty. We sat and tuned in for a little while, Tracey, Carl and Val saw a white light and then made out the figures of a mother and daughter with the names Pauline Turner and a Mary or Mary Ann.

The 'spirits' were frightened and didn't know where they were. It became evident that they felt trapped and wanted to go to the light, with their energy failing we quickly helped them move on. After telling some staff about this, it was then discovered they had used a ouija board in that room.

We had a walk around the outside of the building, again this was alto brief because the ground floor was a busy workplace, even at this late hour. We sensed a couple of spirits but, unfortunately we couldn't establish a strong enough contact to get any details of these entities. Val picked up an 'old fashioned' horse drawn hearse. The horses were black and wearing black feather plumes, which would be fitting for that kind of occasion.

The rest of the night was to be spent on the upper floor where we set up our equipment. There was a small 'kitchen' area containing a sink and a kettle with a couple of shelves above. Staff had witnessed a plate 'jump' out and land a far distance away, had the plate just fallen from the, cupboard sized, room it would, more probably, have landed, and broken, in the 'butler' sink, rather than the corridor outside. On our first visit, prior to the investigation, Val had sensed the presence of a man who followed them around the upper floor. Sure enough he was picked up by Carl. He had a top hat on and carried a cane, he came over as quite an angry spirit and, again, followed us around most of the night.

We went to the next office and the presence of a woman was felt, very quickly. Val's necklace was, gently, pulled and the man we had picked up previously was also there. Later, in that same office, Penny, Carl and a staff member were doing a vigil Carl's face changed and, very briefly, took on the appearance of this man. Staff had also seen a young boy of about 10 in Edwardian clothes in this area. and Tracey was able to tune into him, later in the evening.

When we went back to the room which we used as our base, lots of orbs were seen, and Tracey was able to tune into the spirit of the young boy. He told her he like it there, he was particularly attracted by the large vehicles and equipment used. The boy was also quite fond of a female employee and liked spending time with her. It was thought that there was the spirit of another female keeping an eye on him. The information we found was confirmed by the staff who, again, had 'dabbled' with an ouija board.

The man who had followed us about all night suddenly made contact with us in one of the offices. We asked if he needed help, and for the first time that night, he responded by lightening up the k2 meter. He still seemed angry and disappeared again only to return, in a short while, with his wife. He communicated, to Carl, that they were called Abraham and Victoria Johnson and they lived in the 1800s. They had, apparently, died in separate places at different times and so were not buried together. Now they had found each other again and were ready to move on, at was at this point, and at their request we help them cross over. Whilst in this office the name 'Derby' or 'Derby and Liffen' was also picked up. We have been unable to understand this connection to date.

All fell silent, so with the lack of activity we decided end our investigation. However, as Val and Carl were removing cameras they were drawn towards the window. Outside, there stood, a large tree. It was very quiet outside, with not cars around and only the soft orange glow of the street lamps. Val saw a brilliant white light, emanating from the bottom of the tree and shooting upwards. It had been a long night and thinking her eyes may be playing tricks on her she turned to Carl who told her that he too was seeing the white light. Carl also saw, what appeared to be monks wearing brown habits circling the tree. We found out later that the church from the monastery would have been situated there, at the front of the current building.

All in all we had a interesting night, and wish to thank all involved for giving us this opportunity to investigate the property.
